On Sunday, March 8, neighbors from all over the Heights attended the Houston Heights Time Bank new member orientation.
We introduced ourselves by sharing our favorite thing about our neighborhood and then watched a short video to get an overview of time banking. Next, we talked about the history of the movement, as well as the nuts and bolts of how to participate. We did a few activities to acquaint ourselves with the kinds of exchanges people make within a time bank. We also toured the web-based software that time bank members use to track their hours. We ended with a yummy potluck (hooray for chocolate fondue!).
